As a certified Materials Testing Specialist (IHK — German Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Marcel combines solid quality management expertise with innovative AI development. With over a year of self-employment in AI implementation and training, he has successfully guided numerous companies toward EU AI Act compliance and integrated complex AI systems into existing business processes. At CITECH, he serves as Managing Director responsible for tool development and, as an instructor, delivers practical training on the legally compliant and efficient use of AI systems. Starting January 2026, he is furthering his knowledge through a degree in Applied AI Sciences.

At Austria's first conference on AI in non-destructive testing – hosted by FH Upper Austria together with the ÖGfZP – Marcel Batur (CITECH AI) mapped the EU AI Act onto the NDT world. Before an audience from industry, research and practice he showed: safety-critical inspection AI is usually high-risk – those who classify and document early have a clear advantage.

In a poster contribution, Marcel Batur (CITECH AI) presented an offline RAG system for NDT training centres: it answers questions exclusively from the centre's own course materials – in the learner's native language, matched to their level and without hallucinations. Instructors are relieved of recurring questions, and standard changes stay automatically up to date. ISO 9712-, GDPR- and EU-AI-Act-compliant.
